Scratch Jr. Coding  (K-3rd)

Designed for young learners, Scratch Jr simplifies coding into an interactive, drag-and-drop adventure.  Children will create interactive stories, games, and animations by dragging and dropping blocks to specify the actions of their program. They'll also learn to use loops for repeating fun actions and control structures for decision-making in their stories and animations!

Budding Entrepreneurs  (3rd-6th)

If you like “Shark Tank,” this club is for you! Students select a “business idea,” learn to develop a business plan and make a “pitch” presentation on the last day. Students also role-play as CEOs for leading companies (Apple, Under Armour, Amazon, Tesla, Coke) and work in groups to make strategic recommendations to address real business issues. Students enhance their problem-solving skills, develop business savvy and cultivate a strategic mindset as future leaders. Note: This club is structured as 3 independent and different modules to be offered year-round (preferred) or individually in the fall, winter or spring.

Spanish Journeys  (K-6th)

ISL offers a comprehensive Spanish program for children in grades K-6, suitable for both beginners and those looking to expand their existing knowledge.

Session Structure:

  • Our classes start by learning and reviewing our foundation topics to ensure a solid foundation. Some of these topics are: Greetings, the alphabet, numbers, colors, days of the week, months, and many more.

  • Each session introduces two core topics, explored in-depth throughout the session.

  • The two core topics vary each session, ensuring your child never repeats the same material.

  • We focus on expanding vocabulary, forming sentences, and encouraging active use of the language.

  • Examples of rotating core topics: Animals, food, the house, verbs, body parts, clothes, professions, the city, and many more.

Program Highlights:

  • Every student receives handouts to use in class and at home.

  • Small class sizes, led by native-speaking, experienced teachers, create an engaging and motivating environment.

  • Diverse learning styles are catered to through: Conversation, music, flashcards, reading and writing, games, art, and storybooks.

  • Every two weeks, parents receive an email update from the teacher detailing class activities and providing suggestions for at-home reinforcement, helping to solidify the lessons learned in class.
